New 12" Work Ball Decorated with White Lights

work-ball-flat This is the new 12" Work Ball Creation from Craig Bachman Imports. Work Balls aren't anything new, but this new 12" size is just coming out this year and will be much more usable for home crafter. The larger balls work create for huge creations suitable for retail shops....auditoriums....large spaces. Some of the larger balls could take a CASE of mesh to decorate ....and that's 20 rolls to a case, so that give you some idea of how large the finished products are. Anyway, back to the new 12" ball. It will be shipped to you flat with two metal caps attached. This is a sample that we're working with today and the actual products will be arriving this summer. They will be available in all sorts of colors, similar to the Pencil Work products. Stand the Work Ball up and spread the sides around evenly, much like the sections to an orange. There are 8 sections. work-ball-metal-cap-top This is the bottom of the ball, lay the metal cap on top and make the sections fit into the gaps of the cap, then press the metal cap leaflets down. You may run across some leaflets that don't press down too smoothly because the Pencil Twist is secured right in the same place you need to press down. Don't fret.....just press it down the best you can, it will hold. work-ball-metal-cap-not-bent-well This is a good example of one that I wasn't able to press down neatly. The Work Ball has a ring at the top so you can hang it. work-ball-8-slices The Work Ball looks like this when the sections have been secured in place. Just smooth out the twists and get ready to add your mesh, ribbons.....whatever you're going to cover it in and create away))) work-ball-covered-lights We added some white Christmas lights to this ball. We wanted to see if it would be suitable to hang outside for some ambient lighting for the back porch, back yard entertaining, etc. There are so many options for lighting a ball like this. You could use the Evergreen color and go with regular green Christmas lights which can be easier to find that the white with white cords. The white lights used on this ball were actually the icicle style.....simply because it was what was available in the closet)) work-ball-lighted-hanging-outside Just hung it on a swing in the backyard to see how it would look at night. I think it would look great to hang several of them at varying lengths from large trees or across the porch. work-ball-lighted-outside-2

Closer up view

We'll try out more projects with this sample 12" Work Ball and post those projects as we get them done. The lighted ball would be fun for indoor decorating too....maybe since we already have white lights on it....we should do something that would be nice for a Valentine party......or add some fresh mistletoe for a BIG kissing ball....a Patriotic ball........lots of potential out there!
