Looking for a fresh take on mesh wreaths? We’re excited to introduce a brand-new product to the Trendy Tree lineup: fine weave mesh! This new mesh style features a tighter weave for a cleaner, more finished look—perfect for everyday wreaths that lean more neutral and modern. In this tutorial, we’re using a mix of grey and black to create a chic “Welcome” wreath that’s stylish enough for year-round display, but still versatile enough to change with the seasons.
Right now, fine weave mesh is available in four solid colors and two striped styles—with more on the way! One of the first things you'll notice is that it tends to ravel less than standard deco mesh or wide weave mesh. It has a texture that’s a bit like screen door mesh (just without the metallic feel) and cuts smoothly with a rotary cutter, making it super easy to work with.
Be sure to watch the video below to see this new fine weave mesh in action! We will walk you through each step of creating this neutral “Welcome” wreath so you can see just how easy it is to work with.
Grey Stripe Ribbon
To make this wreath, you’ll need two rolls of 10" x 10-yard mesh and a 24" wreath form—either a work wreath or a pencil wreath will do just fine. Cut the mesh into 20" strips and use the ruffle technique, placing two ruffles in each twist and alternating colors. For the ribbon, cut strips to about 13" and add a cluster of three ribbons to each twist. Finish it off by attaching your sign and adding a bow for that perfect finishing touch.
