This Deco mesh watermelon wreath is perfect for your door in spring or summer. It's so bright and cheerful and we're all craving that spring sunshine and warm weather!
We made this wreath yesterday during a Facebook live and in case you missed it, you can watch the replay here.
Checked Watermelon Mesh Wreath Kit (while supplies last)
XX751106 Metallic Green Pencil Wreath
MD0710 Checked Watermelon Sign
RY8325K3 2 rolls of Lime Green and Red Border Mesh
RX9148X6 Black and White Striped Ribbon
42449-40-43 Watermelon Ribbon
RGE120311 Hot Pink Ribbon
RGE778906 Emerald Glitter 7/8" Ribbon
We cut up two rolls of 10 yd mesh into 20" pieces. Made ruffle/curls by rolling in the cut edges a bit and then ruffling.
Place two ruffles in each twist. We opted not to add ribbon strips to this wreath since the mesh was so pretty. Carrie made a large bow and we attached it toward the bottom of the wreath. She made longer tails on this bow.
You can make bows by hand, or use something like the EZ Bowmaker. For me, the bowmaker is helpful because it keeps the loops all the same size. That's one of the problems I run into when making a free-handed bow.
We attached the sign using chenille stems sort of off to the right side. Make a hanger for the wreath using a chenille stem, floral wire, binding wire, or even a zip tip.
Fluff the ribbons and snip any mesh frays.
That was pretty much it! There was ribbon left over of course. All the ribbon was wired which makes bow making easier for sure. And if you preferred, you could go back and add ribbon custers to the twists.
Folks were asking about the teas we were drinking....just click the image for the recipes (all from Silver Lining Lessons).
More wreath kits are coming up! Carrie has been putting them together right and left!
Today we made a great Patriotic wreath using an exclusive Trendy Tree gnome sign and some beautiful mesh that has a drift edge. That kit is available right now too. A blog post will be coming)))
