It’s been a while since I’ve made a wreath, but Carrie created this adorable Gumdrop Sign and had a bundle of 20 yards of ribbon that caught my eye. I thought it would be fun to make a basic mesh wreath—ruffle, curl, or kruffle, whatever you like to call them—and see how far that ribbon bundle would go!

Carrie sometimes sells ribbon bundles on Whatnot. If you haven’t visited Trendy Tree there, you should! It’s fun, it’s fast, and sometimes she sells things that aren’t available on the website.

Now, back to the wreath!
One 20-yard ribbon bundle of solid 1.5" ribbons (only used 10 yards)
For this first video, I focused on adding the mesh to the wreath form. The bow has its own separate tutorial, so you can work on the wreath base first and then move on to the finishing touches.
I also have a basic instruction sheet you can follow along with as you watch.

Once the mesh base was finished, I made a bow using the solid 1.5" ribbons from the bundle and the patterned 2.5" ribbon I had added.
The finished bow measured about 14" across, with 14" tails. You can watch the separate bow tutorial here:
This was one of the things I was most curious about! After making the bow, I still had about 10 yards of ribbon left from the original 20-yard bundle. I also had ribbon left on the separate roll of 2.5" patterned ribbon.
So, for this bow, I used only about half of the ribbon bundle. That’s helpful to know when you’re planning a project, though the amount you use will depend on your bow’s size, loops, and tail lengths.

The bundle and roll would have yielded two bows of the same size. Or perhaps a few ribbon strips, not necessarily a bundle of the exact same strips in each twist. Personally, I like the one bow on the side. You could have placed the sign in the center also with the bow underneath it.
Here’s the finished wreath with its bow and Gumdrop Sign!

It was fun to get back to making a wreath, and this cheerful gumdrop combination was a good place to start. You can use the same basic mesh approach with different signs, ribbons, and colors to make it your own.
