This charm was created by the Woodland group of Native Indians to catch good dreams, which would slide down the feathers to the sleeping person and let bad dreams fall through the web. Traditionally, shells & feathers are attached: an owl feather for wisdom (girls) and an eagle feather for strength and courage (boys).
