Bright Red Cardinal Ornament Old World Christmas 18139

A bright red cardinal is a beloved sight in winter and a classic on the Christmas tree. It's a meaningful gift for bird lovers and a lovely way to remember someone special.

Birds are symbols of happiness and joy, so they are regarded as a necessity on the Christmas tree. Glassblowers often kept wild birds during the winter months, since the sound of the gas flame in the workshop prompted the birds to sing. When spring arrived, the birds returned to freedom.

This traditional and beautiful glass ornament was carefully mouth-blown into a finely crafted mold. Then a hot solution of liquid silver was poured inside. Finally, it was delicately hand-painted and glittered for you to enjoy and cherish as a holiday heirloom!
