Simple Centerpieces

I love things that are beautiful and simple to make! This fresh greenery centerpiece by Alissa at 33 Shades of Green is just that!

Nothing smells better at Christmastime than fresh cedar or pine. These simple, stunning centerpieces are made by filling your favorite containers with moistened floral foam and branches. We live out in the country, so all we have to do to find branches like these is take a walk around the house. When you cut fresh branches, take along a bucket with a little water in it and plunge your branches into the bucket just as soon as you cut. Use sharp snippers and cut at an angle. To make more room in your bucket, you can go ahead and trim the branches up from the bottom because you will want to remove all branches that would be below the top of your container. Later when you're back at the house, you can crush the tips of the branches to allow them to soak up more water. Visit Alissa's Blog to see her fantastic photos with instructions. Our holiday decorations don't always have to be all glitz and bling. Nature can supply our needs very well)))
