Peonies are one of my favorite flowers......it may be because it reminds me of my grandmother. She had several Peony bushes in her front yard and when they would bloom, I always wanted to cut the flowers and she would never let me. To her, flowers were not to be cut and let die.....they were to be left in their natural state and enjoyed outside. And she had plenty of blooming things)))) She would take me around the yard and tell me what each flower was: Four o'clocks, Holly Hocks, Hibiscus, Zinnias, gosh, just too many different kinds to remember.
But I always remember the Peonies because they would be so beautiful with their big blooms, but the blooms were so heavy when they were in full bloom they would droop to the ground, especially if there was even the slightest rain or heavy morning dew.
One of the first things I planted when I had my own house was Peonies. I'm not much of a gardener, but when they bloom....I cut them quickly and bring the flowers in the house to enjoy a little longer. It always makes me think of my grandmother when I see those creamy pink flowers....none look so good as those in her front yard)))
On our buying trip this summer, we found these gorgeous Peony Bundles
at one of our suppliers.....I knew instantly that we needed to stock this flower bundle because it was just beautiful.
It a clump of Peonies in various stages of blossoming, tied together with raffia. I thought the colors were very close to natural and the bundle includes tight buds,, those about ready to burst open and fully blossomed ones. Leaves are stems are very natural looking.
I think you will agree, they were a great find)))) We have many, many new flower style picks for our website this year...jonquils, dogwood, poppies and even some cotton boll sprays.
