The traditional colors of the Mardi Gras (French for Fat Tuesday) are purple, green an gold. And did I mention Bling? Yes.....lots and lots of Bling!
Mardi Gras parties are typically held between February 3 and March 9th with the actual Mardi Gras celebration beginning on January 6th. So have a Mardi Gras themed Christmas tree is the perfect way to get started early for your Mardi Gras decorating!
This spectacular Mardi Gras tree was created by
Kristina Gardea of Southaven, MS. Now, Kristina, knows a thing or two about bling doesn't she!
The traditional colors purple, green gold have been intertwined throughout the tree with beaded sprays, balls, mesh netting, feathers, and all sorts of Mardi Gras mask decorated with sequins, beads and feathers. Each color of the Mardi Gras has a specific meaning: gold for power; purple for justice; and green for faith.
