Well, today is Monday. Normally a "back to work" time, but businesses are taking the day for New Year's so there is no mail or FedEx pickup. Carrie and David will be back working in the shop getting orders ready to go out for tomorrow though.
Me, I'm supposed to have that free time blocked off on my calendar right? Well that's right, I am blocking off part of the day to go to the Wellness Center to exercise. It's misting rain outside and very dreary, not a day to do any outside walking or biking.
And there was that goal of weight loss.....hmmmmm. The only way to track weight loss is to know where you are starting from, so buck up, shoulders straight, chin up and get on the scales. Well I'm putting this out there for the world to see, maybe if I think someone is watching and keeping up with me, I'll do better. Or better yet....join me! Tell me what you're doing and we can help each other)))) It's so much easier to work on a project with a friend....so please, leave your comments))) Be objective....tell me where I'm going wrong, or veering off my path.
My weight this morning, sans house shoes....was 135.5 and my ht is 5'3" I did calculations on several different formulas and looks like my ideal weight ranges from 104 to 140 with the average being in the 118-120 range. I'm going to reach for 120, that's a 15.5 pound weight loss. I think that's practical and reachable. I haven't weighed 120 for over 30 years. My lowest weight after Carrie was born was 117. Fifteen pounds doesn't sound like so much, but remember I'm sixty'ish....well shoot.....okay! I'm 66. There you have it all, I'm just not posting any pics! lol
Another goal.....drink more water. Already I'm screwed this morning! First drink out of the frig was Diet Mountain Dew! I saw the water....and bypassed it. It's not like I didn't know what I was doing. But I'll finish this and take a water next. I did swear off Diet Cokes a few months ago and haven't let Diet Mountain Dew take it's place, these drinks were just left over from our vacation last week. It just felt like it would taste good this morning))) Water is next.
Matt spent the night with us, so I'll let him sleep for a while and when he wakes up, we'll dress and go to the grocery store for healthy food shopping. In the meantime, I'll take a few minutes to do some website work. New products are arriving this week and need to be added to the website. There are so many new things coming in, can't wait for you to see them all.
I'm hoping to get the hang of Facebook Live and do some product reviews for you. Don't know about you, but it helps me to actually see products first hand. It's so hard to just the size and color of items when viewing a flat image. One of the first things I want to show you is the new fabric mesh roll that we have. We have them in stock already, some were here for the winter season. I've worked with this mesh a couple of times now and just love it and I think it ravels less. We have new spring colors coming this week!
I hope you'll follow along with me on this journey and please post your comments, I will look forward to hearing from you))
If you read my post yesterday, you know about the death of a dear friend. His wife and children are hurting so bad today. These next few hours and days will just be unbearable for them. The loss of this wonderful man just breaks our hearts and we ask that you remember this family in your prayers.
I'll check back in later today and post any accomplishments or downfalls. Maybe if I blog about what I've done, or didn't do, it will help me reach my goal))) Oh, by the way, as part of my "healthier" eating plan, my hubby bought me a new electric pressure cooker......I'll admit it, those TV infomercials just got to me!
So far all I've fixed in it was pot roast which turned out nicely, but if you have one and have any tips, tricks or favorite recipes, please share them! One thing I've learned already.....it just to let it cool down and not exhaust the steam to quickly. The steam came out of the valve so fast it ripped the skin on my hand! Next time I will allow a long cooling down period)))
