Exploring the Pull Through Wreath Method with Assorted Mesh

Yesterday I watched That Wreath Lady do a tutorial using 6" burlap and a "pull through" technique. Here's a link to her Facebook Live Video that you can watch. That Wreath Lady Facebook Live 5/21/17 Trendy Tree is closed this week while Carrie and David take a vacation, so it was a good day to experiment))) The pull through method has been used for burlap and ribbon and some folks have used it with mesh before, but we haven't tried that here at Trendy Tree. So, I experimented))) I used a box wire 18" wreath form with four rings. After we have had a chance to experiment more with the technique we will do a video and go over the details. I mainly wanted to see what different styles of mesh would look like. All the mesh used here was 10" in width - but it all looks different doesn't it! The white actually is listed as 10.5" but it definitely make up larger. The natural mesh in this photo is called Fabric Mesh. It is quickly becoming my "go to" mesh when I want something made up in natural. It's a combination product of 51% Polyester; 35% Jute; 14% Polypropylene. This mesh measures 10" x 10 yards. It has a great texture and I believe ravels less, though it does still ravel. As far as the fullness when made up, it was probably the least in size. SKU: XB97910-15 The ivory mesh is called a Burlap Mesh but actually is a combination product made up of 46% Polyester; 12% Polypropylene; 22% cotton. The addition of the other fibers in this product really makes a different in texture. It's thicker and more dense than just Polypropylene. It also measure 10" x 10 yards. It made up a little larger than the fabric roll. SKU XB97410-18 The next mesh was the least expensive that we have to offer, just plain Deco Poly Mesh. I was really impressed with this mesh! It covered well and made up a little larger than either of the combination mesh products. I did one row of plain mesh and one row with metallic mesh. This was all from scraps left over from other projects. Not sure if the plain and metallic poly just had a little more stretch too it and make it look a little larger, but I thought the coverage was great. Lime RE130268 & Lime Metallic RE130150 I think my most favorite mesh that we tried on this was the Snowdrift. It's a tiny bid wider at 10.5" and made of Polypropylene 97%, Cotton 3%. Even with that small amount of cotton, it really makes a difference. SKU RY810227 We still have other mesh products to try: poly burlap, ombre, wide foil, frayed edge and some others. We'll do a full tutorial trying this pull through with 10" mesh and report back to you. Not sure how many rolls it will take at this point, but I'm sure it will take 2 and possibly 3. Save Save Save
