Milk Bucket Poinsettia

My farmhouse milk bucket poinsettia provides a little touch of Christmas in my kitchen. Remember that little spot of decoration I always like to have in my kitchen? Well now it's my milk bucket poinsettia. The milk bucket has prevailed through last spring filled with orange carrots for Easter, green apples for the summer, and little blue painted pumpkins for the fall. So, it was only natural to discard the pumpkins and pop in a fresh poinsettia, plastic container an all! Easy decorating in my style....you've heard me say it before K.I.S.S. Keep it simply silly!

RAZ Farmhouse Milk Bucket

The RAZ farmhouse milk bucket is still available at Trendy Tree. It's a pail style with bale, rustic galvanized milk bucket. It's about 8" in height and the 7" in width at the top. Farm Fresh Milk is embossed on the front. Such a handy container to change out a bit of decoration for the season or occasion. When my milk bucket poinsettia has given up the ghost, I'll change it out with something else to finish out the winter. Frosted pinecones would be nice.

Scentsicles

Speaking of pinecones, I found this bottle of Scentsicles at Walmart when I was shopping the other day. Everyone loves the scent of a fresh Christmas tree, but at our house, we have an artificial flocked tree this year. But, these little Scentsicles smelled so good in the store I had to try them. You have to be careful with products with a Christmas tree scent. Sometimes they are just overpowering and have a bit of an antiseptic smell. The Scentsicles are little stick that are green and you can hang on your tree. They smell wonderful! I placed a couple on our tree and the mantel. The scent is light and just occasionally when walking through the house, you'll get a whiff of it. Well that's what I get anyway! I hope it's not overpowering to someone who first walks in....I'll have to test that with someone and let you know. scentsicle, milk bucket poinsettia The Scentsicles were available in two scent, I chose the white winter. You can buy the bottles individually or a two-pack for around $10.00 I even tucked one into my milk bucket poinsettia! scentsicle, kitchen bucket decoration

Summary

So, to keep your decorating simple, use the K.I.S.S. method and reuse things like the RAZ milk pail. The milk bucket poinsettia will serve it's purpose for a few weeks, and become something new. It's always changing. Valentine Day will be here before you know that. That's a perfect time to add some bright red ribbon, glittery heart....or better yet, some chocolates!
