Making a wreath bow using outdoor ribbon was a first for me, other than using or trying to use some cheap plastic like ribbon bought at a discount store many years ago. So I was a bit leery of trying to make a big bow using outdoor ribbon. This was the first year we had stocked red velvet outdoor ribbon at Trendy Tree and we chose the 2.5″ width on a 50 yard roll.
Well, the results were……I love it!
It was not that difficult to work with, just a little stiffer than regular ribbon and it’s wired also. The best thing I have liked about it is, the durability. I made my wreath bows and put them all outside weeks ago. We have had days and days of rain and cold weather. My bows look as good as the day we put wreaths up.
Here’s a short video of the bow making. I did use the Bowdabra just because it makes holding the bow easier for me. If you would like a Bowdabra you can get them in many places, but here’s my Amazon link.
The 50 yard roll yielded four fourteen inch wreath bows, a bow for the lamppost and a bow for the mailbox and I still have ribbon left over.
