Key Lime Pie is named after the small, tart limes from the Florida Keys. Since no refrigeration, fresh milk, or ice was available in the Keys till the 1930's, sweetened condensed milk was used to give the pie its smooth creamy texture. It is the official state pie of Florida and absolutely delicious!
