Carousels started as machines used to train horsemen in the 1600s. In 1662, a fanciful rotating carousel was created by an inventive Parisian toy maker who wanted everyone to enjoy the fun.

Over the centuries, brass poles, mirrors, jewels, lights, music, fantastic hand-carved horses and other creatures would adorn these carousels.

This traditional and beautiful glass Carousel ornament was carefully mouth-blown into a finely crafted mold. Then a hot solution of liquid silver was poured inside. Finally, it was delicately hand-painted and glittered for you to enjoy and cherish as a holiday heirloom!
