Measures approximately 5 3/4" Colorful bird with real tail feathers, clip on style ornament made of mouth blown, hand painted glass. From the Bird Haus collection of Inge-Glas. Very delicate looking bird with a rainbow of colors ranging for light greenish tan to light green, brown and blue. Dark tail feathers. Body of the bird is approximately 4" in length with tail feathers finishing out to 5 3/4". With of the bird is a little over 1"

During the cold winter months in Germany, glassblowers often kept birds in cages in their workshops to offer them shelter and to enjoy their melodies. These birds gave craftsmen companionship and inspiration for creating new ornament moulds. The glass-blower family Mueller-Blech was always known for their production of glass birds. Still today they are producing an amazing variety of this popular ornament in stunning designs.
