A great Halloween party treat your children will love - edible mice!
These are actually pretty easy to make and look really cut especially when placed around other snack foods on your party table.
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup confectioner's sugar
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 cup coconut
1/4 cup walnuts
2 cups Rice Krispies
1/4 block paraffin or gulf wax
1 package chocolate chips
maraschino cherries (noses)
licorice or fruit rollups (whiskers and tails)
mini candies ( eyes)
thinly sliced almonds (ears)
Mix peanut butter, confectioner's sugar, and butter together. Add coconut, nuts and Rice Krispies.
Form the mixture into "mice" (little oval-shaped balls).
Melt the wax and chocolate chips using a double boiler. Dip the "mice" into the chocolate mixture. Place on waxed paper and let cool.
Slice cherries to use for "nose". Roll out fruit rollups or licorice and slice into thin strips for whiskers. Add thin slices of almonds for ears.
