All Boxed In!

Ever felt "boxed in" when it come to creating a new idea for your holiday decorating or special events? I have....sometimes I just start flipping through magazines looking for ideas and surfing the net. So many times the arrangements are just beautiful.....and you could create them too if you had the creative staff and seemingly limitless budget that large designer showcases have! Sometimes you just have to figure out a new and different way to use an item that you already have. Colorful boxes, pottery, flower pots, baskets, tinware, serving pieces. Take a walk through your home, garage, workshop, shed ....any place that your store items and picture that item with a whole new purpose. Clay Pots - Wash well and place a couple of cloth napkins inside with the edges hanging over the clay-potspot to hold buns, bread or rolls for a backyard cookout or barbecue. Large tinware pieces or old wooden pieces are great for icing down wooden bucketdrinks. Metal containers will sweat, so place on something to absorb the moisture, or place directly on the grass away from your table traffic. They will look better if you can place them on something to bring them about the table level. The old bucket would look great filled with fresh greenery and some branches with red berries. Use a plastic or glass container on the inside to hold water for fresh items. If using silk, just secure a piece of foam in the bottom with a hot glue gun. candles, greenery, tin containerThis shallow metal container looks great as a holiday table piece filled with greenery an simple white candles. Think of the aroma of this centerpiece! Baskets of any sort filled with greenery, pine cones and tied with beautiful bows add a cheery and warm touch to hearths, corners, and just inside doorways. basket We have lots of assorted boxes on our website, some are nested in sets of 2 or 3, some glittered and flocked. The Drum boxes are one of my favorites and the large is quite a nice size for holding special gifts or ornaments in my case. The boxes are sturdy, nice lids, are painted on the inside and make great decorations throughout the holiday season and hold goodies. Some of our nice round Holly Boxes in solid red and green with a metal holly bow on top are on sale right now. They make great gift containers, fill up a lot of space under the tree and would be good bases for floral arrangements. They are made of heavy cardboard and have a swirled detail which adds interest. There are other items from this same holly swirl category including several different styles of Christmas ornaments and even Christmas stocking holders. red, silver boxesA beautiful box collection looks great on a table or mantle, placed under a Christmas tree and makes lovely keepsake containers for special gifts. They can also take on a whole new look when used as a stand and container for a shiny Christmas tree! So put your creative headgear on and start thinking "outside of the box!"
