"Scrappy" Easter Wreath Tutorial

Our "Scrappy" Easter Wreath was made using a basic natural poly/jute mesh on a 24" Light Brown Work Wreath. The additional ribbons and curls of colored mesh were all from scraps left on our craft table. The Bunny in a Hammock was added for a finishing touch. After we completed that tutorial, we removed all the embellishments down to the basic mesh and this is where we started on our "Scrappy" Easter Wreath. It's always such a shame to have short ends of mesh and ribbons that aren't big enough to do another project and too good to discard, so we gathered up some rolls of mesh and ribbons that were colorful, different textures and started our wreath. We don't typically say to split a 21" mesh product down the middle to use for 10" curls or ruffles, but since this was a "Scrappy" wreath, we did just that with some Orange and Blue Vertical Line Mesh and Yellow Windowpane. Both these products were split down the middle and then 10" lengths cut for curls and ruffles. We alternated around the wreath using ruffles in some twists and curls in another. We use a 24" x 36" self healing Omnigrid Cutting Mat and a 45mm Omnigrid Rotary Cutter (these are available at Amazon and we have included our affiliate links.) After we had a curl or ruffle in each twist, we went back then with some colorful ribbon strips. We had striped burlap ribbon in black and white, chevron burlap in turquoise and natural and some triple striped ribbon that had a little red which looked good with the black and white. This is a great way to use up your short pieces and it's always fun to re-purpose a wreath for a different look. The Bunny in a Hammock is a cute addition and he was attached using the ends of the hammock just secured in a twist tie on either side of the wreath. Save
