I love how the garland of balls looks on the stairwell. This could be fashioned as a table runner too....wouldn't that look gorgeous down the middle of your table. Dream Home DIY has a great tutorial on creating ball garlands using Christmas balls and fishing line. Just click on the garland photo to see more photos and simple to follow instructions. Lots of great projects on this site! You can create this gold/silver garland by just stringing assorted size and color balls on to some nylon twine or even strong fishing line. Just alter the size and color of balls as you go. Great time to purchase bulk quantities of balls right now too. You might also choose some with a matte finish and shiny finish. Shiny balls in clear glass containers......capture the candle's flickering flame.....beautiful. And the napkin ring is made from a bit of ribbon and small balls....simple and beautiful.....and actually inexpensive. Great way to create a stunning dinner table for your New Year's entertaining. Basic white tablecloth or black would make would make a perfect backdrop for gold and silver decorations. Using Christmas decorations for other than Christmas is another good reason for separating your decorations by colors when storing for the season. Makes pulling out a container of "silver" easy as pie when you get ready to decorate for a silver anniversary....or birthday party that needs some bling. You can also cluster ball ornaments and hang them from your light fixture. Experiment with lengths of narrow ribbon. Fold your ribbon in half and place an ornament through one of the ends, after that just slide ornaments smallest to largest through the ribbon. Make several strands then secure them to your light fixture. These ball clusters are pretty hanging from wall scones or suspended mid-way in front of your windows. Wouldn't these decorations be great for wedding anniversaries......
