The most beautiful holiday decorations are created using different colors, textures and designs that compliment each other.
When you think of Christmas fabrics....satin, brocade, crushed velvet and deco mesh come to mind. But, one of the more interesting materials is burlap.
Burlap is made from the skin of the jute plant, one of the least expensive crops in the world and one of the strongest. The jute fibers have a high content of cellulose and lignin. It is easy to dye and is very strong. Next to cotton, it is the second most important vegetable fiber in the world. (ehow.com)
Burlap can be purchased by the yard or on rolls and varies in widths and color. It can be cut, sewn, glued together and painted on. One of the prettiest forms of using burlap that I've seen this year are these stunning wreaths created by
