You may be able to substitute some products by choose other colors of the half work, ball, mesh, etc. The Orange Vertical Line mesh has been discontinued from the manufacturer and no longer available. If you make the project out of other mesh, you will have the best luck by choosing a deluxe metallic or wide foil metallic mesh that is more dense than just regular poly or metallic mesh. Otherwise it will be too transparent. You also can use two layers instead of one which will give better coverage. This tutorial will take up where the video above ends. Please watch to see how to attach the mesh to the Half Work Ball. The method is the same whether using the full 12" Work Ball or the 12" Half Ball. Here is the link to the written tutorial for the Deco Poly Mesh Pumpkin. Top Hat - The RAZ Tinsel Top Hat is available in two sizes. We used the larger size here, but the smaller one would have worked just as well. The Tinsel Top Hat is flat on the back and made of wire and tinsel. It is black with a red/green Christmas decoration. We took a scrap of 4" ribbon. Ours was a Black Burlap with White Polka Dots and just covered the red band with the holly trim on the hat. We didn't remove anything. This way the hat stays intact in case you want to dismantle your Jack and use the Top Hat at Christmas. The wire edges of the ribbon just wrapped around the hat nicely without any extra attachment. If you were selling your creation, you might want to do it more securely. The ghost came from a RAZ Ghost Spray. One sprig of the spray had three ghost so we snipped it off and secured it to the metal frame of the hat in two areas. The hat could be dressed up in any number of ways. We have all sorts of Halloween Ribbons and Halloween Sprays with Spiders, Skeletons, Witch Hats, Bats and more! Here's one RAZ spray that is really over the top....it has it all! This spray has hats - bats - pumpkins - glitter grass and curls. And if you wanted to remove the leaves from the pumpkin.....you could add some "hair" with this new curly twirly sprays. It's not so easy to tell in the photo, but the curly portion of these sprays measure about 30" so each individual curl could probably be doubled and let it stick out underneath the hat))) Another good "hair" option would be Deco Flex Tubing. This could be used to make loops of hair that you could leave as loops or cut either way. We have all sorts of colors perfect for Halloween along with many different textures.....jute....faux jute....regular Flex tubing and also a new Tinsel Tubing. Jack's Face - We just Googled Jack O'Lantern face and found a printable coloring page. Printed this and traced it on to a piece of black craft foam. Cut it out and hot-glued it to the mesh. All sorts of free templates are out there, or you could design your own. You could also add some of the Spooky Eyeballs. These are about a 3" ornament and could be hot glued on. We also have more arriving any day now that will be on picks. Witch Legs - The Crooked Checked Witch Legs are a new style this year, but we have many other styles in stock. These legs are on a wooden stick and were just secured to the wire frame of the Half Work Ball using zip ties. Any sort of witch legs could be used...we have them in several styles and sizes. Some are on wooden picks and others just dangle freely. If you're considering purchasing witch legs....don't wait too long....they're a sell out item every year. We love how our Jack O'Lantern with Legs turned out! And it passed the grand-kid test....you know what I mean...they loved it too!
